Overtourism
I love my hometown, Dublin, however, tourists have a fleeting and superficial relationship with the city. Most of them pass through in less than a day and only ever experience a small slice of it.
This project captures both my love for, and the dynamic of, sharing my home town. I show the beauty of iconic city sites while simultaneously documenting the transient tourist traffic.
The final images are also presented as postcards, a traditional tourist souvenir, which can be shared with others and prompt contemplation on what it means to visit somewhere.
